This year in-term swimming lessons will be conducted at Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre, as the Tuart College pool is not currently available.  All pools at Terry Tyzack are heated and the swimming teachers have options of pool depth and size to suit the stages they are teaching.

Students are taught by qualified swimming teachers and are supported and fully supervised at all times by our regular classroom teachers.

All students are expected to attend swimming lessons as learning to swim is a compulsory aspect of the West Australian Physical Education curriculum. The lessons will run in two blocks as follows:

  • 27 May to 7 June (9 day series due to public holiday) – Rooms 3, 4, 5, 13, 14 & 15  (download the permission slip Swimming 27MAY-07JUN19)
  • 10 June to 21 June (10 day series) – Rooms 6, 7, 11, 12, 21 & 22  (download the permission slip Swimming 10JUN-21JUN19)

The cost for lessons covers bus hire and pool entry. Please see Steph or Kellie at the front Office if you have not found/received the permission and payment slip, which were passed to each year 1 – 6 student last week, thank you.

STUDENTS WILL NEED

  • bathers and a rashie or old t-shirt
  • a towel
  • a towelling robe or other “cover up” to be worn on the bus (eg; a towelling poncho)
  • sunscreen
  • a plastic bag for wet items
  • goggles (recommended)

NOTE: Students will be changing into their bathers at school prior to getting on the bus. After the lesson they will dry off with their towel then wrap up in their poncho/pop-over robe/spare dry towel and return to school to get changed.

Please label all students’ belongings with your child’s name.

Please email or chat to Mrs van der Wal if you have any queries; thank you.
